Our research focuses on history of coinage of Bosporus
in the reign of Mithradates VI Eupator
Dionysius. Many highly artistic and
same type coin series with long inscriptions and various monograms were
minted during the study period. But
recent monograms still have not been read. As
a result coins of Bosporus are still not
confidently attributed. This situation prevents their use for lighting
controversial issues of history of the region. Considering it necessary to
bring a solution to this problem, bring to the scientific discussion of our
reading of these monogram, we consider it possible to ascribe to Mithridates Junior, and his assistants — Pontic
officials. The disappearance of monograms with pieces of
silver coinage Phanagoria explain rebellion
raised its inhabitants against the Pontic
authorities.
